We’re thrilled to announce the four movement leaders who have been unanimously voted to join re:power’s board in August 2020.
Jess Morales Rocketto, Civic Engagement Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the Executive Director of Care in Action; Justin Myers, CEO of For Our Future and For Our Future Action Fund; Katrina Gamble, owner & president of Soujourn Strategies; and Aaron Dorfman, president and CEO of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) joined our board in July 2020.

Justin Myers is the CEO of For Our Future and For Our Future Action Fund, the largest, permanent progressive organizing program across seven states: FL, MI, NV, OH, PA, VA, and WI. Along with community partners, the groups organize all-year-long around issues, legislative advocacy, and campaigns to win elections and help build the lasting power needed to improve people’s lives. In 2018, Justin oversaw the organization’s contribution to sweeping electoral progress, including campaigns to restore voting rights to 1.4 million Floridians, expand Medicaid coverage to 400,000 in Virginia, and the pickup of three Gubernatorial offices, one Senate seat, 13 Congressional seats, and 22 state legislative seats.
Justin grew up as the son of a minister and two long-time union members in Philadelphia. After graduating from Colgate University, he taught history at a Title 1 high school, while attending Fordham University. His career in politics began in Harlem where Justin became a community organizer and City Council liaison. He later managed Congressman Bill Pascrell’s improbable 2012 campaign victory and served as Executive Director of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. Justin was also the DCCC Northeastern Political Director where he successfully helped flipped two more Congressional seats. He has been featured in national and local media outlets including, NBC News, POLITICO, AP, ABC News, C-SPAN, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Marketwatch, and New York Magazine.
Before joining For Our Future in December 2017, Justin was Senior Vice President at the political consulting firm Pivot. Justin specializes in recognizing and nurturing local organizing talent, believing that the people who know the community best are the best people to lead the local organizing efforts. Justin resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife and two children.
Katrina Gamble, PhD is the owner and president of Sojourn Strategies, a social impact consulting firm that works with progressive organizations to build innovative programs and campaigns. Katrina is a researcher, educator, and political strategist who brings more than fifteen years of experience working at the intersection of social justice policy, advocacy campaigns and electoral politics. Katrina designed the first national gathering on prosecutor accountability and as a strategic advisor helped build a national prosecutor accountability hub that resulted in major victories across the country from Philadelphia to St. Louis.
Katrina has deep and extensive relationships with grassroots organizations across the country.Prior to founding Sojourn Strategies, Katrina was the national political director at the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) where she launched their Voting Rights and Democracy program. Before moving into the social advocacy space, Katrina was an assistant professor of Political Science at Brown University where she taught and conducted research on race, gender, and identity politics in the United States. Her work on race and political representation can be found in top-peer reviewed journals. In 2009 -10 she was an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow where she served as a policy adviser in the Office of the Majority Whip for James E. Clyburn (D-SC). Katrina holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from Emory University and a B.A. in Government from Smith College.
Aaron Dorfman is president and CEO of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP), a research and advocacy organization that works to ensure America’s grantmakers and wealthy donors are responsive to the needs of those with the least wealth, opportunity and power. Dorfman, a thoughtful critic, frequently speaks and writes about the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion in philanthropy, the benefits of funding advocacy and community organizing, and the need for greater accountability and transparency in the philanthropic sector. Before joining NCRP in 2007, Dorfman served for 15 years as a community organizer with two national organizing networks, spearheading grassroots campaigns on a variety of issues. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Carleton College, where he studied under the late Senator Paul Wellstone. Dorfman also holds a master’s degree in philanthropic studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and serves on the boards of Capital & Main and The Center for Popular Democracy.
Jess Morales Rocketto is the Civic Engagement Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and the Executive Director of Care in Action, where she spearheads advocacy and electoral campaigns for the 2.5 million domestic workers in this country. She is the Co-Chair of the Families Belong Together Coalition, the campaign to end family separation and detention, and a co-founder of Supermajority, a new women’s political action group. Jess is an alumna of Hillary for America, the AFL-CIO, Obama for America, and the Democratic National Committee. In 2019, Jess was honored in the first TIME 100 Next cohort, a list of rising stars who are shaping the future.
